With all of the talk about leadership, a young social entrepreneur recently shared his observations on the subject. Shane Feldman, the founder and CEO of Count Me In, thinks that leadership involves listening and making a difference.

“Leadership is about making choices that make an impact. They don’t have to be world-changing ideas,” he said. “Small choices help us make a difference. That’s leadership. It’s about the follow-through. What happens afterward,” he said.

Feldman has spoken at the United Nations, received White House recognition and worked with some of the world’s most dynamic companies.

He was recently a guest speaker at a Siegfried Youth Leadership Program™ event, the fifth of its kind. During a lively presentation, Shane Feldman explained to students that no matter what they want to do or build, they need to be present and listen to the people around them. This lesson continues to propel the young entrepreneur and his company, currently valued at $2.6 billion.

Siegfried Youth Leadership Program

The Siegfried Group, LLP has spent the last three decades helping people become better leaders  in their professional and personal lives. In 2016, Rob Siegfried, the CEO and founder of The Siegfried Group and Siegfried Youth Leadership Program™, expanded this reach. The innovative initiative was designed to help young people develop the leadership qualities they need for a successful future.

At the most recent Siegfried Youth Leadership Program™ event, more than 350 students congregated at the University of Delaware for a half-day program that focused on helping them start, or continue, developing strong individual leadership skills. In addition to sessions that Rob Siegfried and Shane Feldman led, four students joined a panel discussion. They revealed visions of their lives at age 25 and identified obstacles to bypass along the way.

Future Events

The next Siegfried Youth Leadership Program™ event will be on February 27, 2019, at the University of Delaware in Newark, DE. More information is available at siegfriedyouthleadershipprogram.com.
